Raising the minimum wage

As a high school student, i am all for the minimum wage increase. The chance that I'd get anything besides an entry level job is slim to none. Because of this, chances I'd be getting rich with a low-end job are also slim to none.

20% update- Nov

As November ended, i had made little progress and had only read some materials recommended by Defcon. I did not have much time this month as we were out most Fridays we worked on it.

Definitions

stocks are a vehicle in which you can make money by way of risk and reward a dividend is money you receive from the company for holding their stock a trade is an emotionless, casual relationship you have with a certain stock for a short period of time and use to make money. bada bing. a catalyst is a large event that will have a serious influence upon stock prices, such as a new product or health issues or lawsuits.

Constants include mixture and cups
Perishables are sugar, ice, and lemons

What I got: lemonade is an awful way to make a living in the summer.

Twenty percent blog post

My twenty percent project is to develop a cyber security class for all ages and participants. The intent of the class is to develop and implement safe internet practices, virus detection, error prevention, and hardware tampering detection. I'm working in concurrency with Mrs. Laplante to develop this program. Sept. goals: My project changed in the middle of september, so no goals were met. Oct. goals: I managed to work with Mrs. Laplante to lay out a base for what materials I need and to develop a curriculum for the class. I'm retrieving reading material from the main Defcon site.

stock trade vs. investment

Alright. So. My current trade is Apple since the ipad retina mini which is completely frivolous will be coming out the twelfth of November. My investment will be tesla motors since it is a fledgling concept with a business based strictly on electric cars but making a rebound after the tragic model s fire.

Blackjack

The popular casino game, now in the classroom! The class started with a handful of chips each, with many questions being asked. I already knew how to play the game, so i put on my glasses and prepared for some Blackjack. starting out wasn't very strong, but eventually i got into the swing of things. At the end, i was in the running for the top spot in chip count, but kapptie edged me out with nineteen over my eighteen. jerk.

trade vs. investment

trades are when you buy a stock for short term, which are expected to increase in value after a catalyst. an investment is intended to be held onto until a certain date, typically long term. in my stock portfolio, Solar city is an investment due to steadily climbing prices and apple will be a trade after the new ipad is introduced.

Candy stock exchange

As i walk into the darkened classroom, i see projectors on the wall throwing images of the stock exchange. the matched audio shows a flurry of voices and even more chaos breaks loose inside the classroom. all of a sudden, i realize people are grabbing candy and monopoly money off the ground. i jumped over the barrier of computers beside me, finding an area rich in sugary and paper goodness. hoarding all that i can, i make my way to a secluded location. "The market is open!" i hear Kapptie yell over the thrum of scrambling bodies and scattering candy. i sort mine into neat piles and organize them alphabetically by color. after that, it's a scramble for who can stockpile the most valuable candies. Tellese, bless her heart, smashed all opposition with 6 thousand and some odd dollars, overpowering my measly two grand. all in all, i survived the chaos, but just barely.

My Plans After High School

Currently, my post-abecedarian plans involve attending Florida institute of Technology. during my time there, i will develop a program that allows me to skim off the cents used within everday business transactions (whichever superman movie, Office Space.) from then on, i will slowly be taking over the world by buying my own political party, buying out political places, and basically buying anything i very much desire. this would show a slight increase in prices, but focuses could be shifted onto actual world problems with everyone getting along by my money.
